Next year’s festival runs from March 18–29 –starting immediately after St Patrick’s Day
2027 will mark the 48th year of the Irish Poker Open with another unforgettable festival running from March 18 to 29 at the Royal Dublin Society in Dublin.
It will be well worth arriving in the city early for next year’s Irish Open so you can catch all the amazing St Patrick’s Day celebrations as well. The centrepiece is the world-famous St. Patrick’s Day Parade on March 17 – the eve of the Irish Open festival – with hundreds of thousands of spectators lining the Dublin streets to watch the performers, floats and dozens of marching bands.
Irish Open co-owner Paul O’Reilly said: “With St Patrick’s Day taking place the day before the 2027 Irish Open, next year’s event really is unmissable! People come from all over the world to watch the St Paddy’s Day parade. It really is spectacular – and a perfect Opening Ceremony for the Irish Poker Open! The world gets one Paddy’s Day but Irish Open players are going to get 13!”

The Irish Open is by far the largest and richest poker event in Ireland and is the longest-running No-Limit Texas Hold’em tournament in the world outside of Las Vegas.
As in 2026, many of next year’s tournaments will come with giant guarantees, including the €2,500,000 guaranteed Main Event, €1,000,000 guaranteed Mini Irish Open and the €1,000,000 guaranteed Luxon Pay Mystery Bounty.
Run by Paul O’Reilly and JP McCann in collaboration with global poker sites PokerStars and Paddy Power, the Irish Poker Open has won numerous awards including Best Stand-Alone Festival at the Global Poker Awards, the SiGMA award for Best Live Poker Event and Competitive Entertainment Event of the Year at the 2026 Irish Enterprise Awards.
Always more than just a poker tournament, the Irish Open is an annual celebration of fun and festivities that attracts thousands of players from all over the globe. The 2026 Dublin edition featured 89 different tournaments, attracted over 32,000 entries and created an overall prize pool of over €15.5 million.
The partnership with PokerStars, Paddy Power and the iPoker network enabled more than 1,600 players to win their way into the flagship Main Event via online satellites. Romania’s Narcis Nedelcu won the record-breaking Main Event for €336,790 after outlasting a 5,003-entry field. The total Main Event prize pool was €4,852,910.
JP McCann added: “The Irish Open has always been about more than just cards and chips – it’s a tradition, a gathering and a massive annual celebration of the game we all love. So it’s more than apt that next year’s event will coincide with St Patrick’s Day. Players can start their celebrations on St Patrick’s Day on March 17 and then carry on celebrating for another 12 days at the Royal Dublin Society. St Patrick’s Day and the Irish Open go hand-in-hand as the perfect way to enjoy Irish culture and all the “craic“ that Ireland is famous for.”
Cedric Billot, Associate Director of Live Events at PokerStars, said, “We are delighted to continue our highly successful collaboration with the Irish Open for a fifth year running. The Irish Open exemplifies the very best of live poker and offers an unforgettable experience. Nothing beats the community spirit at this multi-award-winning festival and we are looking forward to keeping the buzz going for 2027 and welcoming our numerous online qualifiers to next year’s event.”
The 2027 St Paddy’s Day/Irish Open combo promises an electric start to next year’s festival. From the colour and excitement of the world-famous parade to the very last “shuffle up and deal” at the RDS, players can look forward to an unforgettable trip, packed with Irish hospitality, the “craic” and unforgettable moments both on and off the tables.
