The €350 America’s Cup has become a stalwart of the Irish Open schedule, and with the tournament now open to all nationalities, 795 entrants were obtained yesterday in Day 1 to create a €239,057 prize pool.
Only 48 players will return to the Royal Dublin Society today at noon, all intent on capturing the trophy and €44,160 first-place prize. Those figures outstrip the 2025 edition, where a €207,040 prize pool was gathered, and Bart Timmer of the Netherlands was crowned champion.
Tjenno Eskes (1,145,000) already has one Irish Open final table under his belt, finishing seventh in the €3,000 High Roller in 2024, and he will attempt to make it consecutive Dutch champions, starting the day behind only Canadian Michael Malm (1,450,000), with UK grinder Harry Sandford (1,100,000) completing the podium places. Irish hopes are led by Aidan Quinlan (700,000), while 2013 Main Event champion Ian Simpson (745,000) is also riding high.
