At 1 p.m. local time, the next four-card contest during the 2026 Irish Poker Open will determine a winner as Event #57 PLO 6-Max Championship returns in the money in the vast tournament area at Royal Dublin Society. The final day has locked up a min-cash of €600 for all of the 52 survivors of a 394 entry strong field and everyone has guaranteed a portion of the €118,476 prize pool.
Late last night, the money bubble burst and none other than David Lappin was the last player to walk home empty-handed. Frode Fagerli was also knocked out as well but had the larger stack to claim the min-cash but not bag up any chips.
The only player with a seven-figure stack according to the PokerStars LIVE app is Canada’s Junior Roberts with 1,087,000, followed by Darren McBrearty (607,000) and Ruslan Nazarenko (561,000). Other notables in contention include Jack Hardcastle (408,000), Andrew Seabright (400,000), Mitchell Hynam (393,000), Antoine Vranken (198,000), Balazs Somodi (127,000), and Jeff Kimber (85,000).
Somodi won Event #38 €5,000 PLO High Roller (in which Nazarenko finished fourth) whereas Hynam was part of a three-way deal just yesterday in Event #49 PLO 8-Max before jumping right into the next tournament.
The action for the final day resumes at 1 p.m. local time and there will be 21 minutes left in level 16 at blinds of 5,000-10,000 with a big blind ante of 10,000. After 25-minute levels on the first day, the level duration increases to 30 minutes each until the final table after which it will transition to hands-per-level. Expect the opening stages to be fast and furious as nearly one third of the field has ten big blinds or less at their disposal.
