All eyes of the mixed-game community are set on the €350 Mixed 8-Game Championship. It’s time to discover whose versatility may lead to a trophy-lifting experience at the 2025 Irish Open.

While no-limit hold’em typically takes centre stage everywhere around the globe, live 8-Game tournament opportunities are few and far between (at least in Europe).

However, this year’s Irish Open schedule fortunately incorporated a wide range of poker varieties, encouraging players to showcase their dedication to community, draw, and stud games — ideally, all combined.

8-Game’s charm stems precisely from its complexity. Skill and maximum focus are prerequisites to excel as the rotations continue to shift games from one to another.

And there’s another key component to these events — a ton of fun! Everyone involved just purely enjoys the moment. The mixed-game folks are basically a subculture within a subculture. It’s niche, it’s thrilling, it’s absorbing.

So, what’s on the plate in 8-Game?

Players will try to outmuscle opponents in 2-7 Triple Draw, Limit Hold’em, Omaha 8, Razz, 7-Card Stud, Stud 8, and, of course, in NLH and PLO.

Action starts at 2 p.m., and today’s goal is to narrow the competition as far as down to the final table (or through 18 levels, depending on the total field size). Unlimited re-entries are allowed through the registration period — until the end of the 10th half-hour level.

Stay tuned for live updates from the first truly mixed event of the 2025 Irish Open festival.
