The first cards for the first event of the first (and only) Irish Poker Open of 2023 have been launched into the air as the €350 NLH 6-Max Championship Event begins! A rare sight these days, this is a pure freezeout, so the bullets fired by the 80 current entrants are sole shots at the first trophy up for grabs here in Dublin.
Last year a field of 186 generated a prizepool of €56,220; the winner, Leo Lombardozzi, took home €13,395 of it. With late registration open until 9pm, there’s every chance that we’ll surpass that number of entrants and award tonight’s champion even more. Stay tuned to the live updates as we follow the action and observe that champion’s coronation in (most likely) the wee hours of tomorrow.
