After a very strong start to Day 3, Thomas Jakobsen has hit the rail at, if not the eleventh hour, at least the tenth. The last level had not gone his way, and he moved in as a short stack (550,000) first with pocket aces over a Paul Coyle open with Jc 9c (these held) and then again with pocket nines.
This time, however, his pocket pair was non-nut, and in fact Justin Boyle had a better one – a pair of jacks. Taking this latest scalp puts Boyle’s stack over 6,100,000, a close second overall at this point.
