As the bagging and tagging continues, it looks like Stuart McNally is our Day 1c chip leader on 299,500 with Priti Patel (not that one) in close second on 298,000 – ahead of Tan Le’s 287,300 from Day 1a, but way behind the 475,000 of Day 1b’s Sandro Pitzanti. The board says that Day 1c garnered a total of 820 entries, of whom 313 have made it through to Day 2 – to be confirmed once the excellent dealers and floor team have done their thing. Either way, this will be the biggest field we’ve ever seen in an Irish Open Main Event. Full chip counts will appear in the “Live Data” bit shortly.
In the meantime, Day 1d continues with 185 runners and counting. They’re currently halfway through Level 7 so there’s a little over an hour left until we know who’s made it through from there, plus I strongly suspect we’ll see a fair few direct buy-ins into Day 2 tomorrow, further swelling the field in this already record breaking tournament.
