It is Race Night in the player lounge, overseen by our master of entertainments Phil Baker, and it’s basically chaos but as far as I can ascertain it works like so:
Players sign up and are assigned a literal horse in a televised race from about 30 years ago, by the looks of it. The race is then played on the big screen with former professional racing commentator Baker calling it as best he can with ✨your✨ name instead of the name of the horse’s – hilarity ensues. Whoever’s horse wins the race progresses to the next round, and so on and so forth. The eventual winner will receive a seat in next year’s Irish Open Main Event courtesy of our sponsors PaddyPower – nice.
Players currently appear to include Niall “Firaldo” Farrell and our own media coordinator Mad Harper. Please find below a quick video I took of round one and see if you can work out exactly what’s going on. Good luck everyone – especially Phil.
