Liam “The Gentleman” Flood is one of those characters every poker player past a certain age will have heard of or met if they spent enough time in the industry.
For anyone needing a refresher course, Liam was a lifelong poker enthusiast, working in the book-making and poker industry. Involved in the organisation of various poker tournaments, including assisting running the Irish Open for many years.
Flood was also a formidable player – Irish Open champion in 1990 and 1996, so it was no surprise that following his sad demise in 2014, it was decided to hold a tournament in his memory.
And so, this €350 Single re-entry turbo 6-max is dedicated to his memory. Last year’s winner, Antonius Samuel, took home €15,312 for winning the trophy and that was with 211 runners.
There are 291 already as we move through level 5 so it will be a much bigger first prize today once the numbers are tallied come the close of registration. Good luck all!
