Gregory King just played his last hand – going to war preflop with Paul Carr, holding A-8, though he was a fair dog against Carr’s pocket kings.
A board of T-3-5-2-J gave him a momentary glimpse of hope but it was dashed away to leave Carr with a monster stack of 2.2 million and King joining the growing throngs on the rail.
“You played well today” Carr told King, though his slightly dejected opponent may not have heard this as he sloped off into the night.
They continue 18 handed battling for the trophy!
