Jones Proves Himself Wrong

McCloskey: Beatable After All

Mick McCloskey opened for 1,700 preflop, called by an in-position Winston Jones only. On the Ks Jd 6d flop, McCloskey led out for 2,000, called fairly swiftly by Jones.

The turn brought the 7c. McCloskey now checked, and Jones bet 6,000 with a rather pessimistic comment regarding his own feelings about his chances of winning the hand: “I can never beat you…”

McCloskey, however, folded, proving Jones wrong. “I finally won one!” he said as he scooped the pot (his stack now 46,000). McCloskey still has around 60,000.
