First Chris Ruprecht and Karl Gialanze took the plunge, nearly equally short stacked and both with ace-king. Gialanze’s was suited, but that made no difference to the deck and they chopped, to the great disappointment of everyone else in the tournament.
Then Jim Delaney, with 89,000 chips, moved all in from the small blind after an early position raise and a button call from Ionel Serbu. The initial raiser folded but Serbu made the call with pocket fives. Delaney had the highest non-paired hand: Ac Kh, but it stayed non-paired as the board ran out 2s 7c Jc Qs 4h.
Serbu’s stack is up to 465,000 as the blinds rise to 6,000/12,000. Everyone is now guaranteed €620.
