Friend of the Irish Poker Festival Martin “Franke” von Zweigbergk has as usual enjoying everything the Irish Poker Festival has to offer. Or at least, he is taking advantage of the convenience of the bars and the plethora of poker.
Franke entered The Hendon Mob €250 Championship and it wouldn’t have been surprising for him to have fired a few bullets by now with late registration about to close. However, he has found an interesting strategy to keep his frequency of opens below the usual near 100 percent which is witnessed more often than not with Franke at the table.
He was short on chips and decided to switch things up with a 20-minute trip to the bar. Franke didn’t blind off too badly this time but later on, he wound up bringing his stack up to 75,000 from a starting stack of 30,000 after doubling his stack.
It should be no surprise that Franke was back at the bar by now.
“It was JP’s fault,” Franke said.
“No, it was not,” JP was quick to add. “You invited me for a drink.”
Franke is back at the table ready for battle but his stack has decreased to 50,000.
“It was JP’s fault,” Franke said about the stack reduction. “JP bought the second round.”
Best of luck to Franke and may his unique approach award him a trophy at the end of the night.
