John Ward busted his first Day 1A bullet, but decided to put his sole re-entry to good use. He sat down at Table 8 searching for redemption, and on his first hand, he limped from the Hi-jack. Peter Murphy (Button) and Miroslav Forman (Small Blind) both made the call before Carl Cullen checked his Big Blind.
Action was checked to Murphy on the flop, who bet 3,000. Forman and Cullen both folded, while Ward made the call. Ward then check-called a 6,500 bet from Murphy on the turn. The dealer revealed the river, and it didn’t take Ward long before he moved all in for 39,500. This had Murphy visibly troubled; he leaned back in his chair and thought the hand through before, ultimately, making the call.
Ward turned over ; the rivered flush was good, seeing as Murphy mucked his hand, and one must admit, it was quite the stellar start for Ward on his second bullet.
John Ward: 103,000
Peter Murphy: 35,500
