Ewen Trevidy put up a valiant effort to stay in contention but ultimately was never able to close the gap to Maximilian Sanders. When he limped the button off approximately 21 big blinds, Sanders pushed all-in and Trevidy called after brief consideration.

The pot was for two thirds of the chips in play and Sanders called over his rail. “We are in there guys, and this time we are ahead,” he said.

“Make it easy this time, ace ace on the flop,” one of his buddies said.

In the end, it wasn’t quite easy but neither player connected with the board. A lot of pressure fell off Sanders’ shoulders and he bumped fists with Trevidy before they parted ways.

For the young French player, the €87,800 consolation prize as the runner-up was the biggest score on the live poker circuit. Both him and Sanders had already cashed three times during the 2025 Irish Open and Sanders more than doubled his live poker cashes so far, with a huge improve to the top score of €140,450.
