There was a single 5,000 chip in front of Ahmad Al-Shanti under the gun. Martyn Cavanagh limped, and Zeik Tuit and Paolo Guastella followed suit, before Al-Shanti claimed he had said “Pot – 4k” when putting his chip in. The floor was called and, after a few minutes of vigorous debate, Al-Shanti’s action was declared to be a call. Patrick Doherty completed in the small blind and Bouwe Claushuis checked.
The flop was checked to Al-Shanti, who open-folded, saying “I’m completely tilted.” Cavanagh fired out a bet of 5,000, and Tuit, Guastella and Doherty all called.
That was the end of the action as the turn and river were checked through. Doherty tabled for two pair jacks and threes, and that was enough for the pot.
