When the “all in” call came (blinds still 4,000/8,000), button Mardini and small blind Xanthopoulos both had 100,000 in front of them, leading us to surmise that Mardini had simply set his shorter stacked opponents all in when it folded to him (risking maximum 130,000 from a stack of nearly 285,000). He held Ac 3d, while Xanthopoulos tabled Kc Th. The board of Js 4s 5d 3h 7h favoured the bigger stack; Mardini is up to 385,000.
