Massive congrats to Irish Open stalwart Barny Boatman who has just been signed as the latest member of PokerStars Team Pro.
Pictured with his close friend and two-time EPT champion Victoria Coren Mitchell, the announcement came during a live recording of the 300th episode of the Poker In The Ears podcast, hosted by PokerStars live stream commentators James Hartigan and Joe Stapleton.
Barny’s latest achievement comes only a few weeks after he sensationally took down the EPT Paris Main Event for his first major PokerStars tournament victory and a career-best cash of €1,287,800.
Barny – one of four co-founders of The Hendon Mob – has competed at nearly every single Irish Open for the last 23 years. With two WSOP bracelet wins under his belt, he has now accrued over $5.4 million in live tournament earnings. He has also cashed at the World Series more than any other Brit (82). In 2015, reached three consecutive WSOP final tables.
Boatman joins an elite team of ambassadors including Irish pro Fintan Hand, Ben “Spraggy” Spragg, Marle Spragg, Parker Talbot, Georgina James and Nick Walsh – all of whom will be attending this year’s Irish Open.
PokerStars CEO Kevin Harrington said: “We are delighted to welcome Barny Boatman to the PokerStars family. Barny’s reputation as one of the most respected and accomplished players in the industry precedes him, and we are confident that his insights and contributions will be invaluable as we continue to innovate and evolve as a platform.”
Barny said: “I am excited and honoured to be joining PokerStars and its excellent group of ambassadors. I know that PokerStars is committed to providing the best experience and playing environment both live and online.”
