We pick up the action on the river of big pot. The flop had been 8s 4s Kc, the turn the As, and the river the Ad. In seat 9 Shane McGowan bet out 6,500, just him and Gregory Grech, on the other side of the dealer in seat 1, left in the pot.
Grech considered his options before nonchalantly tossing four green 5k chips across the betting line.
When McGowan called, Grech turned over his jack high flush, Js Ts, expecting the pot to come his way. But it was Ah 4c for McGowan, who raked the pot with an unintuitive flat call. We imagine Grech gets away if he faces the bet-three-bet shove on the river, but yer man there had the third nuts.
We’re now over 400 runners on the day. Half the field is on dinner break for another thirty minutes, at which time we expect the pace of play to pick up a notch.
