The flop was 3c 2h 9d and Marc MacDonnell seemed in control, betting 2,400, which both Fredrico De Santos Silva and Mark Finnane called. The turn card was the Ah. Finnane, out of position to both, checked to MacDonnell, who upped the wagering to 6,500. De Santos Silva called again.
Finnane had other ideas, raising to 18,800, slowly and confidently. This puzzled MacDonnell, who called. But De Santos Silva headed for the hills and got out of the way. The river was the total blank 8c. The nuts on the turn were still the nuts and nothing much had changed.
That seemed to Finnane’s liking, as he cut out 30,000 confidently. This sent MacDonnell puzzling and puzzling. In the end he folded. Mark Finnane appears an unknown quantity to his opponents and so far that is working to his advantage.
