Richie Allen pulled into a narrow lead of only two big blinds with the larger pots being mostly traded and he then limped the button. Lauri Liuttula raised the pot to 375,000 and Allen called.
On the flop, both players opted to check and headed to the turn for free. Liuttula checked and Allen bet 850,000 only for his opponent to push all-in. The shove was for 2,140,000 total and Allen went into the tank while mulling over all the equities before he made the call for almost all of the chips in play.

Richie Allen:
Liuttula was ahead with two (three) pair and a club flush draw while Allen had top pair and the diamond flush draw. The most unlikely of outs came on the river as Allen improved to a set while dodging all straight and flush outs.
The clock had struck past 6.30 a.m. local time and the sunrise was already on the verge of reigning in another day when Allen finally closed out the victory with karma on his side.
Liuttula was denied the victory and had to settle for €12,300 while Allen will receive the trophy and top prize of €19,820. He apologised to the floor staff for his emotional reaction earlier and is now probably straight on the way to bed already.
Stay tuned for a recap of today’s (and yesterday’s action).
