The flop came down and it was about this time that Lydia Cugudda began to tell us the tale of her lucky chip.
But this wasn’t a poker chip, oh no…
Apparently, Irish Open Ambassador Karen Muir had told Cugudda that potatoes are lucky. Well, unsurprisingly, Lydia couldn’t find any potatoes lying around in a card room — and you can probably guess the rest. Cue an impromtu photoshoot with the fabled french fry itself.
By the time we returned to the action, the hand was over and the dealer was preparing the next shuffle.
