Jamie Dwan lost back-to-back hands to hit the rail in seventh place for €22,530. The first hand appeared like he was about to send Ian Drake to the rail but a bad beat occurred after Dwan’s didn’t hold after Drake committed his stack with on the flop. The turn kept Dwan ahead and Drake narrowly survived after hitting two pair on the river.
Drake apologized to Dwan but that didn’t discount the fact that Dwan was down to just 10,000 in chips. These went in under the gun with and was up against Bert Stevens who isolated to 45,000 from the cutoff with . Dwan was initially ahead on the flop but got out of his chair after Stevens improved on the turn.
Good games were heard by Stevens and others to Dwan after an unfortunately ending in seventh place after the river didn’t start a Cinderella story.
