Scotland’s Kyle Maguire came one player shy of becoming Irish Poker Open immortality in 2022 when he finished runner-up to Irish poker legend Steve O’Dwyer.

That being said, he is off to a good start on Day 1a of the €200 Mini Main Event. However, fans of PokerStars Team Pro Benjamin “Spraggy” Spraggs can’t be happy as most of that was at his expense.

Spraggy four-bet jammed with ace-queen for a little more than half a starting stack and was called by Macguire with tens. The board ran dry and Spraggy was on the rail with still plenty of time to re-enter if he chooses.
