The unlimited re-entry €5k Luxon Pay High Roller attracted 60 entries on Day 1 but late registration has yet to close, and high rollers are notoriously late registerers…
The start-of-day chip leader is (surprise, surprise) last year’s Main Event champion Steve O’Dwyer. O’Dwyer finished Day 1 with 293,800, some way ahead of EPT Prague champ Roberto Romanello on 208,000. Among the 39 players still in contention are Kully Sidhu, Waheed Ashraf, Triple Crown winner Niall Farrell, Benny Glaser, Brandon Shiels, Johnathan McCann, Jack Sinclair, PokerStars Ambassador Ben Spragg, Conor Beresford, Gary Thompson, Robbie Bull, Paul Newey and Irish Open Ambassador Chris Dowling. Defending Champion Alex Peffly is also still in the field albeit very short-stacked on 28,500. The London chef won €111,835 in last year’s tournament after outlasting a 90-entry field.
