In roughly 30 minutes, the €250 Old Dogs and Young Pups is kicking off. This is a one-of-a-kind tournament, and it’s brand-new on the Irish Poker Open schedule. The tournament has two starting-day flights: one for the “Young Pups,” where one has to be between the ages of 18 and 30 in order to participate, and one for the “Old Dogs,” which is open for everyone 50 years or older. Each starting-day flight is playing down to 15% of the field, and those who advance will come together tomorrow, Sunday, April 5, to battle it out over the generations for the title.

All players will receive a 30,000 starting stack, and the first level features Blinds 100/200 with a 200 Ante. Late registration will be open until the commencement of Level 9 (approximately 23:00). Dom Clementsson is covering the “Old Dogs” flight of the tournament, while Christoffer Karlén is following the “Young Pups”. Both blogs feature a segment called “The Bark,” where the live reporters ask the players certain questions related to the opposing competition.

The dogs are soon to be let out, as “Shuffle up and deal” is roughly 20 minutes away.
