Mareks Bondars opened to 2,500 under the gun, and received a call from Albert Sapiano, before 2013 Irish Open champion Ian Simpson produced a three-bet to 10,000 from the cutoff. Only Bondars called.
On the flop, Bondars check-called in the face of a bet of 9,000 from Simpson.
The same pattern followed on the turn, this time in respect of a bet of 40,000 from Simpson.
The river completed the board, and Bondars checked for a third time. Simpson took a final glance at his cards, and jammed with the covering stack after about 40 seconds of thought.
Bondars went into the tank with 67,000 behind, but eventually had to let it go.
