After 18 levels of play, Day 1 of America’s Cup has now reached its conclusion. Following a relaxation of the rules to allow players from all around the world to enter, the event attracted 685 entries, dwarfing last year’s field of 191.
That made for a prize pool of €207,041, with the winner set to walk away with the top prize of €38,340.
A total of 47 players made it through to Day 2 and all locked up a cash of at least €760.
Marc Asensio of Spain bagged the chip lead with 1,170,000. He’s trailed by Leo Worthington Leese of England, who bagged with 985,000.
Truly an international field, no players from the top 10 were from USA or Canada. Scott Roberts is the leading US player and he sits in 22nd place with 380,000.

Day 2 of America’s Cup kicks off on Thursday 17th April at midday local time. Players will return to blinds of 10,000/20,000/20,000 and the event will play down to a winner.
