Just 23/155 players in the €350 HORSE Championship (played in sequence HEROS here) have bagged chips at the end of Day 1, with Alexander Cheng way out in the lead, according to our chip counts, with a stack of 1,050,000. No one else holds close to a seven-figure hoard, but there will be tough competition left in the field for Cheng. Jari Mahonen in second has a stack of 312,000 and Ben Sweetman in third 284,000.
A strong North American contingent has sent Ethan Bennett, Randy Hagen, June Jenkins, Kami Chisholm, William Chen, Keith McCormack and Blaise Bourgeois (fresh from his third place in today’s €350 Mixed 8-Game Championship) through to Day 2 to battle contenders from around the world.
