Irish Open Ambassador Chris Dowling wins €3k Cuatro PLO High Roller

Irish Open Ambassador Chris Dowling, widely regarded as one of the best Omaha players in Ireland, has taken down the very first Irish Open Cuatro PLO High Roller for €46,175.

Chris Dowling Wins the Cuatro PLO High Roller

The €3k event, the first in a series of Cuatro tournaments making their debut at this year’s Irish Open, attracted 46 entries creating a €122,705 prize pool.

Dowling started the final day – at 1pm – with the third-largest stack and coasted to victory in dominant fashion. In fact, victory came so quickly (just over two hours) that Dowling was even able to make it to his son’s Gaelic Football match later on in the afternoon. The Cuatro PLO High Roller is one of several newly-introduced Cuatro bounty tournaments which are running for the first time during the 2026 Irish Open. Dowling’s win today takes him up to around $1.6 million in total live tournament winnings and he currently lies in 13th place in Ireland’s all-time cash list. All the live updates are here.

The “festival within a festival” for Deaf players continued yesterday at the 2026 Irish Open, with another trophy presented just before the clock struck midnight. Robert Tronina from Poland won €1,650 after taking down the €150 Deaf Mystery Bounty. The cash was by far his biggest and his first in Ireland. Tronina cut a three-way deal with Silvio Zgraggen (€1,760) and Mohamed Camara (€2,949), but it was the fifth-place finisher Jill Mossop who squeezed most out of the mystery bounties. Mossop took home €4,240, of which €3,700 came from the envelopes!

There were 121 entries with the top 18 finishers sharing a total of €15,730 in prizes (€7,629 through the regular payout structure).
