At noon local time, the cards will be back in the air for the final day of Event #23 €350 Mixed 8-Game Championship, which drew a field of 183 entries to generate a prize pool of €55,028 at the Royal Dublin Society. The tournament kicked off yesterday with a 30-minute level structure and concluded once the top 12.5% of the field were reached.
Just shy of the money, the likes of Frank Visser, Todd Berman and Benedict Kaiser were eliminated. Bubble boy was then Frederico Morais Hitner from Brazil to send the last 23 players into the money with at least €500 locked up for the efforts.
Two German players are leading the way with Nicolas Bokowski (660,000) and Andre Borrmann (568,000) while English live poker reporter Chris Bean (443,000) sits in third place. Blaise Bourgeois (319,000), Amie Martini (269,000), Tara Dunn (236,000), Randy “Gucci Man” Hagen (203,000), and Bill Mawer (123,000) are just some of those still in contention as well.
The action resumes in level 16 with blinds of 6,000-12,000 and an ante of 3,000, which may cause an early cascade of eliminations as the limits are already quite high. Seven players reached the money with a five-figure stack and will try to spin that up.
Eight different games will be in rotation with Hold’em, Stud and Omaha variants all part of the mix. While the min-cash is only €500, the winner can look forward to a payday of €12,850 and it might only be a few hours until a winner has been crowned.
