Poker players may be getting younger and younger, but the exploits of Barny Boatman, who won EPT Paris earlier this year for €1,287,800 and of course Padraig Parkinson, who is contending the Main Event with 14 players remaining, show it’s folly to write off those with a few years of experience under their belts.
We’ll see much of this life wisdom showcased in the senior event which begins shortly. Last year saw local talent Anthony Whorriskey collect the trophy and the €10,530 first prize to the joy of friends and family.
We expect no less exuberance for this year’s winner, who’ll be crowned later today. Before then, there’s a lot of poker to be played though. Cards in the air – we’re set to begin!
