At noon local time, seven players out of 70 entries return to their seats in the vast tournament area of the Royal Dublin Society and they have all locked up a portion of the €71,295 prize pool already in Event #42 Mixed 8-Game Championship High Roller. The tournament came with a price tag of €1,150 and paid the top 11 spots with Thomas Clack bowing out on the bubble.
After 20 levels of 30 minutes each, only seven players remained and Benjamin Sweetman bagged up the second largest stack. He had already cashed in the €350 version of this very event a few days ago and then won the 2-7 Triple Draw trophy to have a chance at winning a second trophy during the 2026 Irish Poker Open.
Sweetman returns with 715,000 in chips, which is nearly two-times as many as Narcis Nedelcu (365,000) and Jan Bendik (355,000) have at their disposal. Another well-known name still in contention is Jean Kabbaj, who returns with 320,000 in chips. However, leading the way is Nicholas Mingoia with 895,000 and the only one close to seven figures.
Seat 1: Nicholas Mingoia – 895,000
Seat 2: Darren Taylor – 465,000
Seat 3: Jan Bendik – 355,000
Seat 4: Narcis Nedelcu – 305,000
Seat 5: Joshua Chudnovsky – 445,000
Seat 6: Benjamin Sweetman – 715,000
Seat 7: Jean Kabbaj – 320,000
All seven finalists have locked up a cash prize of €3,500 already and the winner can look forward to a payday of €19,850 as well as the Irish Open trophy.
