At 12pm local time, the final day of Event #15 €350 Irish Open PLO 6-Max – Single Re-Entry – Championship will kick off at the Royal Dublin Society. It is the second tournament on the schedule for four-card lovers and they drew a field of 283 entries yesterday. Upon completion of 12 levels of 30 minutes each, only 44 players remained and the money bubble will be imminent as the top 41 spots get paid.
Everyone will aim to earn a portion of the €85,537 prize pool with at least €570 and an Irish flag for the Hendon Mob profile up for grabs. The final six get €3,540 and the winner is set to take home €17,300.
Jie Zheng leads the way with 473,000 but none other than Richard “Chufty” Ashby is in second place with 460,000, followed by The Hendon Mob Championship finalist Alexandros Dimogiorgis (353,000).
Some PLO specialists in the mix include Kasper Mellanen, Nikolaos Angelou-Konstas, Jonty Williams, and Henri Ojala. Germany’s Helmut Phung has a WSOP Europe bracelet in PLO to his name and will return with 153,000 in chips while book author Barry Carter is the third bottom stack with 61,500.
While the early stages may be cagey very close to the bubble, expect the six-handed action to pick up rapidly thereafter en route to crowning a champion today here at the 2024 Irish Open.
