Tournament Room

At noon local time, several tournaments will recommence on the fifth day of the 2026 Irish Open at the iconic Royal Dublin Society. Among them is also Event #28 €350 HORSE Championship which will see 23 players out of 155 entries return to their seats. They have all locked up a portion of the €46,609 prize pool with the min-cash worth €600. However, everyone is looking forward to the top prize of €10,300 and the Irish Open winner’s trophy.

Defending champion David Dongwoo Ko will not be able to defend his title as he bowed out well before the money bubble. There is, however, one massive chip leader as the UK’s Alexander Cheng steamrolled to a huge stack of 1,050.000. If the chip counts in the PokerStars LIVE app are to be trusted, that is more than three times as many as the 312,000 of Jari Mahonen, who is listed in second place.

Many of the finalists of the Mixed 8-Game Championship will be back too including Benjamin Sweetman, Ethan Bennett, Randy Hagen, Blaise Bourgeois and Nicolas Bokowski. Friend of the Irish Open June Jenkins and former PokerStars ambassador Mason Pye are also still in contention as well.

The tournament is played in the HEROS sequence with five different variants available to showcase the mixed game skills. The action will recommence with level 17 which features blinds of 8,000-15,000 and an ante of 3,000.
