Thursday will see ladies get together at poker tables, vying for the prestigious Irish Open trophy in the restricted annual event. The €250 Ladies Championship kicks off at 1 p.m., with a 25,000 starting stack and 30-minute blind levels (opening at 100/200).
This is a single re-entry tournament, so all participants may fire two bullets if needed.
While the champ won’t be known until tomorrow, there’s already a lot to play for today. The Ladies Championship will be the first live-streamed tournament from the festival.
A chance to play on the stellar final table, in the spotlight, is undoubtedly a strong incentive to showcase the A-game. If last year is any indicator, the road to the stage is anything but easy, though. Octavia Miruna Muller had to fend off a 136-entrant field to lift the trophy.
This year’s Irish Open is breaking records left and right, so it would be hardly surprising to see the Ladies’ tournament field rise deep into the triple digits again.
