Brandon Van Niekerk limped for 2,500 from UTG. Manuel Del Olmo (Cut-off) and Yen-Jung Chen (Button) also settled on calling the 2,500, and Ueli Munoz checked from the Big Blind.
The flop came , and all players checked, bringing the on the turn. Munoz checked and Van Niekerk bet 8,000. Del Olmo folded prior to Chen making the call. As Munoz folded, Van Niekerk and Chen was now heads up.
On the river , Van Niekerk checked, and Chen forced his opponent all in for 99,500. Van Niekerk was visibly agonized and troubled by the pressure from Chen, but, eventually, he made the call.
Chen turned over for the flopped nut straight. Van Niekerk couldn’t believe his eyes as he tabled for a two-pair that wasn’t any good.
Van Niekerk hit the rail and four players are now remaining. As previously mentioned, play will continue until only three players remain, who will then bag their chips for Day 2.
