The Irish Open Never (Off the) Felt So Good

The poker tables are only the start of the entertainments on offer here at the Irish Open, and tonight in the exceptionally comfortable and moodily lit player lounge, as well as the usual shuffleboard and beverages from the Chip & Seagull bar, PokerStars will be hosting what we believe* is the inaugural Irish Open Corn Hole Championship. Honestly we’re not not super sure what that’s going to involve but it looks like items will need to be chucked into holes of one size or another – not dissimilar to beer pong but with less danger of spillage, and with prizes to be won. Maybe.

There will also be live music in the Chancers Arms bar (helpfully signposted as “IRISH PUB” from the tournament area) if you fancy another mass singalong to Mr Brightside – we know we do. See you there!

* From my colleague Jen Mason: “I don’t recall that, but I don’t remember much from last year.” Vintage Irish Open, that.
