Andy Norman wins PLO Mystery Bounty 8-Max

Former snooker pro Andy “Bibi” Norman has won the €1,150 buy-in PLO Mystery Bounty 8-Max for a lifetime top (poker) score of €15,980. The win follows hot on the heels of his runner-up finish in the €1,150 PLO event earlier in the festival which was, at the time, his best ever cash. Norman, who owns the Castle Snooker Club in Brighton, was defeated in the earlier event by Swiss player Martin Schamaun. Norman got €15,980 for finishing 1st, and then another €16,700 from bounties. When four players remained, they made a deal to lock up €10,000 each and keep on playing for another €10,000 (and the mystery envelopes still in play). When Norman and Hamed were heads-up and even in stacks, they were able to chop the remaining €10,000 in the middle as well.

There were 184 entries creating a €93,702 prize pool. Norman beat Jacob Hamed heads-up to take down the tournament for a Live updates are here.

Beck wins Old Dogs and Young Pups

Old Dog Thomas Beck has won the inaugural Old Dogs and Young Pups tournament  for €6,040. Day 1 attracted 160 runners, 80 on each side of the age divide. By Day 2, the number was down to 24 – again an equal number of oldies and young ‘uns, all in the money. The final table was a hotly contested affair, with the ratio of seniors to striplings remaining balanced throughout. Beck beat fellow Old Dog American Hyndi Khomutetsky heads-up, with Young Pup Jan Cvach from the Czech Republic, the overnight chip leader, coming third. The total prize pool was €33,57.
