Players who have celebrated their 50th birthday can enjoy another tournament on the schedule, with the €1,150 Seniors High Roller kicking off at 3 p.m.

Last week, 158 entrants compete for the Super Seniors Championship (60+), a contest eventually topped by Philip Arthur.

This time the price tag is bigger than on the opening day, and now there are more grinders in town. The Royal Dublin Society is getting packed from early tournament hours.

Minutes before the start, more than 50 players are already registered for the tournament, hoping to start spinning up the 30,000 stack straight from the 100/200 blind level.

So that’s already a promising teaser for the two-day Championship.

Day 1 will go on for 18 levels (or until the final table, depending on field size). You can follow live reporting on this page from 4 p.m. local time.
