Another packed tournament day at the record-breaking 2026 Irish Open. Not just Day 2 of the Main Event, but a ton of other events as well.  But first … some Day 9 highlights

Woof woof! Introducing Old Dogs and Young Pups

One of the liveliest new additions to next year’s Irish Open schedule is the Old Dogs and Young Pups tournament – a two-day generational grudge match starting today with both flights kicking off at 7pm. Following the same format as its Kings and Queens sibling event, the €250 buy-in tournament features two starting flights – one for the “Old Dogs” (50+) and one for the “Young Pups” (<=30). Whether you’ve been grinding the felt since the 70s or you learned to play on your phone between Zoom calls, this one’s tailor-made for you.

Seat allocations will be carefully managed to ensure there are an equal number of players from each age range once late reg closes. The two starting flights will also wind up with an equal number of survivors to ensure there’s an even split for the multi-generational Day 2. Live updates here.

€550 JP Poker Masters Championship

The JP Poker Masters – always a very well-attended tourney – starts at 2pm today with a €550 buy-in. Last year’s tournament nearly tripled the previous year’s and there were still a ton of players wanting in on the action. French Canadian Alexandre Pruneau competes all over Europe but secured his first Irish flag and first ever live trophy after outlasting the huge 742-strong field for a first prize of €58,579. Controversially, Pruneau revealed the secret of his success – a Guinness Snakebite. He said: “I like to mix the Guinness with the apple cider, a lot of people who have seen me do that have not talked to me anymore!” Live updates here and gallery here.

€3k High Roller 8-Max (Event #74)

The two-day €3k High Roller 8-Max gets underway today at 4pm and you can follow along on our Live Updates page.

PLO Mystery Bounty 8-Max

The €1,150 buy-in PLO Mystery Bounty 8-Max kicks off today at 8pm. Live updates will be here.

Two more Mini Day 1s for you today. Roll on up for Mini Day 1j and Mini Day 1k! Final chances are tomorrow with Day 1l, Day 1m and the final Day 1n! The €250 buy-in, €1 million guaranteed Mini Irish Open is the largest low buy-in tournament in Europe so don’t miss getting a slice of the action!

Spin & Go

Our €50 buy-in Spin & Go tourneys are continuing to generate a buzz in the cash game area every night. Each game features four-minute blind levels, a 4,000 starting stack and kicks off with 100/200 blinds and a 500 ante. The fun means the prize pool could be anything up to €1,000! Just turn up with cash (or your cash game chips) and give it a try. The action starts at 8pm.

The last hurrah for live satellites

Today is your final chance to get into a tourney on the cheap – and High Rollers too!

  • €650 gets you in to the 100k Milestone, five seats guaranteed satellite for the €3k High Roller. Starts at 1pm (Event #72)
  • We’re also running an extra satellite today – a €140, 100k milestone for the Ladies High Roller. It’s unlimited re-entry and it starts at 4pm (Event 201). The two-day €1,150 Ladies High Roller starts tomorrow at 4pm.

Lip Synch!!!!!! Get on up here, Jim Reid!!

No one who was there will EVER forget Jim Reid’s outstanding performance in last year’s Lip Synch contest in the Craic Den. It feels like only yesterday! Well, the Canadian RecPoker rep is back this year and we’re expecting another superb performance. Lip Synch IS our live music tonight so come along and watch even if you don’t want to take to the stage. Lip Synch kicks off at midnight, preceded by our annual Shuffleboard competition.

2025 Jim Reid, what on earth will 2026 bring?

Thank you Paddy Power for hosting Happy Hour tonight from 8.30pm-9.30pm.
