Danielle Noja

Another day, another solid turnout for a mixed game tournament at the 2025 Irish Open inside of the Royal Dublin Society on a rainy Sunday in the Irish capital. There were a total of 147 entries who ponied up the €350 entry for the Horse Championship and that created a prize pool worth €44,431 of which the top 20 spots were paid.

After 18 levels of 30 minutes each, the money bubble had burst and only 15 players survived the carnage. Australia’s Danielle Noja claimed the top spot with 683,000 in chips ahead of Sebastian Huber. Not to be mistaken with the namesake poker pro Stefan Huber from Switzerland, Huber is a PokerStars Team Online member and regularly streams his mixed game sessions under the moniker “peace&loove”. He had a strong finish that led to the second-biggest stack of 491,000.

Wantao Tang claimed the final spot on the podium with 446,000, while Bouwe Claushuis advanced with 365,000. Among the survivors is also the 2024 WPT Montreal champion David Dongwoo Ko from Canada, who sits in the middle of the pack with 235,000. Likewise, Siddharth Sudunagunta (221,000), Jay Harwood (134,000) and Andreas Froehli (58,000) will be back for the final day as well.

The last player to leave empty-handed was Brazil’s Rafael Auria, who got razzle-dazzled to the rail by Noja on sixth and seventh street. David Lappin and Per Hildebrand were among the casualties in the money thereafter with the former losing his last few big bets with a straight against quads.

Not as fortunate were the likes of Georgina “GJReggie” James, Benjamin “Spraggy” Spragg, and Mason Pye as all three red spade representatives came up short of a cash prize. Other notables such as Martin “Franke Von Zweigbergk, Vangelis Kaimakamis, Calen Mcneil, Marcel Vonk, Kim Kilroy, 8-Game Mix winner William Mawer and PLO High Roller champ Shamil Patel suffered the same fate.

The action is set to resume on Monday, April 14, 2025, at of noon local time. Blinds for flop games will be 8,000-15,000 while the stud variants have limits of 15,000-30,000. Stay tuned right here on the Irish Open website as we deliver more of the mixed game action then. All 15 survivors have locked up a cash prize of €750 and the winner will take home €11,000 for the efforts.
