Day 5 highlights here
Battle Royale
Last night saw the official coronation of our first Kings and Queens champion. Mike Koch from Switzerland triumphed after beating off competition from both genders to seize his first place prize of €5,500. Although Ireland’s Shella McSweeney came into the heads-up with the chip lead, two bad beats were ultimately her undoing. She took €3,520 for runner-up.

The tournament pitted men against women in a unique format with starting flights matched in number – as well as equal numbers going through to Day 2. It was STILL evenly-matched by the last 12 players – six of one and half a dozen of the other. There were 102 entries overall, with 16 players making it through to the final Day 2. The total prize pool was €21,272. Tournament hosts Lisa and Scott Roberts aka Team Roberts did sterling duty as hosts. They didn’t cash but another married couple – Brian Harris and Jen Frankstein – both ran deep. Brian finished fifth for €1,512 while Jen was tenth for €500.
Brian and Jen have shared a love of poker since their third date … when Brian turned up with poker chips and a pack of cards. Read our full story about their romantic backstory here.

Bartha wins Luxon Mystery Bounty
The €1 million guaranteed Luxon Mystery Bounty was due to end today but, with only seven players left in the early evening, it was decided to keep going. Tudor Bartha took it down – his first live event victory – for €110,700 (€96,700 cash prize plus bounties). Tudor’s victory provided the first six-figure cash of the 2026 Irish Open and also bring the prize money awarded so far to more than €1.8 million.

All in all, the final day of the tournament lasted about 13 and a half hours with a substantial part of that played out during a protracted three-handed session between Bartha, eventual runner-up Carlo Wolters and third-placed Stanislav Grodek. Runner up Wolters’ bigger total prize of €139,950 reflects his uncanny knack for picking mystery bounty envelopes: he won not only one of the top prizes of €50,000, but a €20,000 one as well.
The start of day chip leader – Nevada native Adrian Mack – finished tenth for €16,880. 2025 Main Event finalist Brandon Harris (last year’s highest-placed online qualifier) finished fifth for €86,050 and British pro Jack Hardcastle was 11th for €12,380. The huge turnout of 1,175 players generated a lush prize pool of €569,875.

HORSE champ!
Germany’s Sascha Manns galloped to the podium yesterday, taking down the €350 HORSE Championship for €10,300 after beating American Keith McCormack heads-up. Irish Open superfan June Jenkins was third for €4,840 while start-of-day chip leader Alexander Cheng finished fifth for €2,850 (marking a second cash for Cheng following his APAT Championship score.) There were 155 entries creating a €46,609 prize pool with €10,300 for the winner. Click here for a full report by loyal workhorse Christian Zetsche and all the pics are here.

Deuce to 7 Triple Draw
Ben Sweetman won the Deuce to 7 Triple Draw Championship after outlasting the 126-entry field. Britain’s Mitchell Jones won last year’s edition after learning the rules on his way over to Dublin but Ben definitely had a handle on this low-ball game before arriving at the RDS! He made the final of last year’s edition and also final-tabled the APAT Nottingham tourney in 2024. More details on this year’s tourney here.

It’s also the final for the two-day €3k Cuatro NLH High Roller starting at 1pm. Just 20 players remain from the 83-entry starting field with Italian Andreas Goeller in the lead. The total prize pool is €221,403 with €41,000 for the winner. Details will be here.
€3k Cuatro NLH High Roller
Luka Sorainen from Finland took down the €3k Cuatro NLH High Roller for €41,000 including bounties. En route to victory, Sorainen claimed eight knockouts adding a further €24,000 to his haul for a total prize of €65,000. The €65,000 total payday represents a new career-best live score for Sorainen, who defeated Pawel Krol of Poland in a lengthy back and forth heads-up battle, with the lead exchanging hands several times before the decisive blow was dealt. Start-of-day chip leader Italian Andreas Goeller was fourth for €21,800. There were 83 entries generating a €221,402 total prize pool. See our report here and all the pics are here.

Our first Flip & Go champion is Jiang Pu. He fended off competition from a Day 2 field of 26 players to win the event for €5,700. The total number of entries was 260 with all 26 players who won their FLIP stage on Sunday getting a share of the €25,220 prize pool. See our report here and gallery here. The next FLIP Day 1 is Event #59 starting Wednesday at 9pm.
