Event 40 is the two-day €1,150 NLH 8-max, starting at 7pm; we’ll keep tabs on that one here.

Deuce to 7 Triple Draw

The Deuce to 7 Triple Draw Championship got underway today at noon with 52 entries so far. This is a lowball draw game in which you’re trying to make the worst possible hand – with 2-3-4-5-7 (unsuited) as the nuts. You don’t need to be an expert to thrive in this one: Britain’s Mitchell Jones won last year’s edition after learning the rules on his way over to Dublin! Live updates for this year’s tourney can be found here.

Final day action for HORSE, Kings & Queens and more

€350 HORSE Championship

The final of the €350 HORSE Championship gets underway shortly starting at 2pm. Top pony at present is Alexander Cheng who gallops into the RDS arena today with 1,050,000. He’s already cashed at the festival, finishing 42nd in the APAT Championship. Canadian Irish Open superfan June Jenkins is currently second with 743,000.

Some 23 players started the day but we’re already down to 18. There were 155 entries creating a €46,609 prize pool with €10,300 for the winner. Click here for live updates and gallery here.

It’s also the final for the two-day €3k Cuatro NLH High Roller starting at 1pm. Just 20 players remain from the 83-entry starting field with Italian Andreas Goeller in the lead. The total prize pool is €221,403 with €41,000 for the winner. Details will be here.

Kings and Queens

After exciting 51-entry balanced starting flights yesterday (total 102) for the brand new Kings and Queens event, we started the final day today at noon with 16 players preparing for battle. The €250 tournament attracted a total of 102 entries creating a €21,272 prize pool.

Gary Fisher begins the day as chip leader but those chips will be under attack from the off. Also in the field is UK pro Sinead Davenport. Live updates will be here and pics here.

Husband-and-wife rivalry will be rife between Brian Harris and Jennifer Frankenstein who have both made the final.

Flip & Go

It’s Day 2 for our first Flip and Go contestants and they’ll be taking their seats for a conventional NLH, multi-table €1k tournament. There were 260 entries in the Flip stage last night creating a €25,220 prize pool. All those in seats today won their respective Flip stage yesterday. In fact, winning the Flip is the only way to get a seat for the Day 2 tourney – there are no direct buy-ins. All players get 30,000 in chips with 30-minute blind levels and 15% of the field will get paid. Among those in contention: Christopher Adams, Marc Foggin, Dongwoo Ko and Matthijs van den Broek. Updates can be found here.

Spin & Go

Every night of the festival, we’re running Spin & Go tourneys in the cash game area. Running from 8pm to 11pm, these quick-action tourneys are fast and fun. Each game features four-minute blind levels, a 4,000 starting stack and kicks off with 100/200 blinds and a 500 ante. The fun comes with the “spin” which means the prize pool could be anything up to €1,000! All you have to do to enter is rock up (with cash or your cash game chips) and get your name down.
