One of the most prestigious card rooms in Canada is giving players the chance to win their way into this year’s €1,150 Irish Open Main Event.
The Playground in Quebec is now an official casino partner for this year’s Irish Open and is set to send a large number of players to the €1 million guaranteed Main Event.
The Irish Poker Open is the longest-running No Limit Texas Hold’em poker tournament in Europe and is taking place this year from March 25 to April 1 at the Royal Dublin Society,
Located just 20 minutes from downtown Montreal, the Playground is widely considered Canada’s premier poker destination. Thevenue has hosted some of the world’s biggest poker tournaments including the WPT, WSOPC and many others.
The Playground’s Road to the Irish Open promotion is running from February 22 to March 16 with a two-step satellite structure offering players the chance to win a C$6,180 prize package for as little as C$135.
Win your trip for just C$135
The C$135 Step 1 satellites are running every Thursday at the Playground from February 22 to March 14 and there is also a bonus satellite on Friday, March 15. The main Step 2 qualifier is on March 16; it costs C$600 to buy in direct and a prize package will be available for every 12 players who enter.
Every package includes the €1,150 Irish Open Main Event buy-in plus a balance of approximately C$4,400 to cover self-arranged accommodations and flight expenses. Many Irish Open regulars compete at the Playground including new Friend of the Irish Open Brian Morgan.
Irish Open organiser Paul O’Reilly said: “We are thrilled that the Playground has come on board this year. We already have a strong contingent of Canadian regulars who come every year to compete at the Irish Open but the Playground satellites will open up this opportunity to even more players. We know that the Playground doesn’t often run sats for external events so this really is very special and we look forward to welcoming a lot of new faces from Quebec at this year’s Irish Open”
