Ave Lapik and I were estimating the chip count together of Una Kelly after the previously reported hand as we know each other from over the years of covering countless events in Estonia. I turned my back to walk back and all of a sudden Lapik was all in for about 10 big blinds from the small blind with pocket eights and was up against the pocket cowboys held by Anita Bruton.
Unfortunately, the board didn’t push eights ahead of kings and Lapik was out before the money.
“I tried to make a steal,” Lapik said with a smile on her way out of the tournament arena to chat with a friend.
We wish Lapik the best of luck in the plethora of open events and may we see the Estonian flag waving high at the 2024 Irish Poker Open.
Meanwhile, Anna Duxbury also hit the rail recently to leave just 41 players remaining in the field.
Anita Bruton – 120,000
Ave Lapik – 0
Anna Duxbury – 0
