Massive congrats to Canada’s Miruna Muller who took down the giant €250 Ladies Event last night for €6,132. She triumphed after beating fellow Canadian Manal Bousnina heads-up and following a three-way deal that saw Muller, Bousnina and third-placed American Una Kelly all lock up some cash in advance. She came to the Irish Open with her great mate Friend of the Irish Open Elizabeth Bennett-Martin to celebrate her 50th birthday.
It was a stacked field in the tournament which, with 136 entries, was more than double last year. A total of 23 players got a share of the €28,508 prize pool including Charlie Waters in fourth. Charlie is here with her hubby, Luxon Pay MD Tom Waters who finished fourth in last year’s Main Event along with her dad Peter and young son Eddie. Eddie is already an Irish Open record-holder – he’s not yet three years old but he’s the only person in the WORLD who can say they’ve been to the Irish Open every year since they were born! Grosvenor sponsored pro Katie Swift was seventh while PokerStars ambassador Marle Spragg was 12th. Marle recently won a Global Poker Award for Best Twitter/X Personality – her videos are fantastic so do check out them out on Instagram.
In fourth place was well-known Irish player Sia Browne. Sia has racked up $63,950’s worth of live event cashes including four impressive results this year alone. Satellite winner Jenny Steele was 17th and Dublin’s own Tanya Masters min-cashed for €370. All the finalists received a gorgeous Claddagh sterling silver pendant in addition to their cash prizes.
