After dominating the final table, Benjamin Kuch’s luck finally deserted him. Over a series of hands, Eero Abbey whittled his stack down, to become a convincing chip leader.
Kuch almost got back to parity, when his held against Abbey’s .
As so often happens, while that hand was being typed up, it suddenly became clear that a big pot was brewing.
With the board showing and over 3 million in the middle, it was clear that both players had a piece of it.
Kuch led out for 1.5 million and attracted a call.
On a river, he declared all in, and Abbey insta-called. Kuch had chosen the wrong time to bluff — his missed draw, running into the stone-cold nuts.
Abbey tabled to seal the deal.
