PokerStars Ambassador Kenny Hallaert topped the chip counts after Day 1 of the €3,000 Irish Open High Roller, which, unsurprisingly, given the scale of this festival overall, attracted a huge field of 248. He’s already won one High Roller event at this Irish Open, and probably wouldn’t mind the matching trophy pair.
Those who survived Day 1 of this event are not going to find an easy route to a trophy hoist: besides Hallaert there remain Robbie Toan (who won this week’s €10K Super High Roller for €163,800), PokerStars Ambassador Benjamin “Spraggy” Spragg, Philippe Souki, Victor Pinna, Andrew Hulme, and Luxon Mystery Bounty champ Nils Pudel.
Live reporting from this toughest of Day Twos commences at 13:30.
