2026 JP Masters Champion Jonas Heuser

Level 33: 300,000/600,000/600,000
Entries: 1/911
Prize Pool: €441,835

Jonas Heuser has capped off a superb 2026 Irish Open with victory in the record-breaking €550 JP Poker Masters, taking the lion’s share of the huge €441,835 prize pool after a four-way ICM deal. The German recorded a runner-up finish in the 6-Max Championship a week ago for €28,670, and upgraded silver to a shiny Irish Open trophy here, as well as boosting his bankroll by €59,515.

The deal was agreed at the second time of asking between the victor, British duo Samuel Mather (€45,700) and Raymond Power (€42,600), and Nico Frenn of Switzerland (€38,285). Power and Frenn hit the rail, leaving Mather and Heuser to battle for the remaining €18,000 of the prize pool and the trophy. Mather was at an 8:1 deficit, and Heuser wrapped it up quickly.

With this score, Heuser has basically doubled the entirety of his previous recorded live cashes in one festival.

Winner’s Reaction

“So sick man. Yes, I’ve had a good week, actually I lost heads-up this week, but now I’ve got it and it’s so so good for me. Irish Open has been crazy, every tournament running so hot, it’s perfect.

The final was pretty sick. We made a four-way deal and played for 18k, winner takes all, so 18k plus the deal is amazing. Yeh I was close in the 6-max, we actually had deal discussions, he declined for no reason. His friend came and told him and said let’s gamble for 17k. I took a 7:1 lead and then lost, it was so annoying for me, we gambled for 17k. So this one for me is really nice.”

Final Day Recap

A total of 77 players returned for the final day, all guaranteed a €1,120 payday, and the knockouts came at a frantic pace. For a significant proportion of the finale, it looked like Antoine Vranken’s name would be on the trophy. The Dutchman started the day as the chip leader, and maintained that position all the way up to the start of the final table, where he was only slightly behind Estonian Tarmo Tammel.

Antoine Vranken

Notable names who exited before that point included Nick Newport, Mircea Rus and Thomas Murphy. Murphy was among the top of the counts for a time when the tournament was reduced to two tables, but came off worst in a blind on blind confrontation with Mather just before the second break. Heuser started to get moving when a found a river hero-call with third pair against Adrianus Weel, and short-stack Sean Foley then jammed from the small blind into the aces of Power.

The final table was set when Oskar Ojaveer ran into the kings of Tammel, and it was a cagey start, before a huge cooler derailed Vranken. Vranken rivered the nut flush, but it also paired the board. Vranken jammed over a bet from Power into his full house, and suddenly Power had a substantial lead.

Raymond Power

Audrius Daugvilavicius had been reduced to dust, and he was next to go, also to Power, before Tammel busted Floyd van Houwelingen. Mather moved into second when he forced a fold from Heuser on the river, and Power claimed another knockout when he sent Claudio Baldini to the rail in sixth with queens.

Power started to leverage his advantage, and with stacks becoming shallow, deal discussions were briefly considered with five left. Tammel busted to Mather in fifth, and the figures were agreed after lengthy discussions about whether to play on for the trophy and €18,000 of the prize pool.

Samuel Mather

The average stack was now 15 big blinds and matters wrapped up quickly from there. Power busted to Frenn’s snowmen, before Heuser coolered Frenn. That left Heuser with a huge heads-up advantage over Mather, and he quickly wrapped it up to take the remaining loot and trophy, removing any lingering frustration from the 6-Max Championship outcome in the process.
